The Prix Lignum 2021 honors the innovative, high-quality and forward-looking use of wood in buildings, interior design, furniture and artistic works. The Rynetel wildlife bridge over the A1 freeway and the Crocodile in Winterthur are awarded a recognition.

Prix Lignum

For the nationwide Prix Lignum 2021, no less than 530 entries were received from all over the country. 67 projects more than in the last competition in 2018. The awards ceremonies were held on took place on September 30, 2021 and October 1, 2021. Recognition for the WTK Rynetel and the Crocodile
We are especially pleased about the recognitions for the projects Wildlife Bridge Rynetel and Crocodile. These projects were we, as timber engineers, were able to play a decisive role in shaping these projects.

WTK Rynetel

It took a long time to convince people: more than more than 20 years ago, Stefan Zöllig demonstrated that wood is the right material for green bridges. Crocodile

Where locomotives and machines were once built a new city district is being built today. Directly next to the Winterthur train station urban living and working space is being created for over 1,500 people.
