Early and holistic project planning combined with interdisciplinary cooperation between the parties involved in the construction are the guarantee of project success. This was the rough conclusion of the specialist event «Planning and building with your own wood», which took place at the Loogarten care and retirement center in Esslingen.

«If you build with your own wood, you get a building with added value and at the same time create an emotional connection to your own raw material». Keynote speeches and a panel discussion were held on the focus topic of «Planning and building with your own wood» in the newly extended two-storey «Esslinger Loogarten».
Christine Hiestand from asa Arbeitsgruppe für Siedlungsplanung und Architektur AG (asa AG), Rapperswil-Jona and Andreas Burgherr from Timbatec Holzbauingenieure Schweiz AG were responsible for the keynote speeches mentioned at the beginning.

If everyone involved pulls together, an ecologically and emotionally outstanding lighthouse project can be created.
