Our interns Selina Regamey, Phil Fehse and François Gross have successfully defended their bachelor thesis - we are proud of you and congratulate you on this success. It is always a pleasure for us to support young talents and to accompany them in their education.

Congratulations

We are pleased to announce that our interns Selina Regamey, Phil Fehse and François Gross have successfully defended their bachelor theses. This significant milestone marks not only their personal success, but also their commitment to excellence as aspiring timber engineers.

Selina Regamey wrote her bachelor's thesis in the area of CO₂ accounting of buildings and carbon storage, comparing several construction projects. Wood construction scores well in terms of life cycle assessment.

Phil Fehse has conducted a feasibility study of cut-and-cover tunnels using timber construction, concluding that timber can be used for such projects. In a variant study, he examined three structural variants, each with two structural systems. The three-hinged cross-laminated timber structure turned out to be the most economical variant.

François Gross developed a ribbed ceiling system that addresses the current needs of demountability and reuse of materials. A Sharp Metal joint turned out to be the best connection between the panel and the rib.
